Welcome back to a new school year!
As you know, we are welcoming two new members of the professional staff here at the MTA office.
Nadia Greco, most recently a teacher at Edward Murphy School, is our new assignment and transfer specialist. Her responsibilities also include the professional improvement committee (PIC), health and safety, and part-time and recall teachers.
Lori Newton is coming to us from John Paul I High School. Her dossiers include: Adult Education, Vocational Training, parental rights, grievances and teacher workload.
We welcome both Nadia and Lori to the office. Nadia can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org and Lori at email@example.com. Of course, we are always available by phone as well at 514‑487-4580 to assist you.
In other important news, our new local collective agreement was ratified with 82% support at our special general meeting at the end of June. I would like to thank all those who came to the meeting and had their voices heard. In the coming weeks, we will be finalizing the official text with the school board. In the meantime, a summary of the new provisions can be found on our website.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
I wish you a successful start to the 2017-18 school year.
